FLAC to Apple Lossless
Was always wanteing Apple to support FLAC in iTunes as it is my main music source. I realized how compressed Mp3 is when I was listening to Spotify in enhanced mode and was contemplating moving to Sonos to be able to support FLAC, then I read about FLACTunes and tried it this morning converting all of my 400+ albums to Apple Lossless. Much more file sizes and it will take iMatch most of the day to compile, but am again listening to music through iTunes in lossless format and loving it.
FLACTunes was a snap to use. I went artist by artist to first delete the Mp3 file in iTunes than convert the artists FLAC file to Apple Lossless (As I have music in iTunes purchased those files I left as is). FLACTunes placed the converted file into iTunes and also created a separate file in a FLACTunes folder. I moved this file to external storage for backup and storage. We will see how iMatch reacts to the larger files, but the playback from my MAC is great. The whole process took about two hours to convert and back up 400+ albums. Best $3.99 I have spent for quite a while.
